Top North American PC Vendors in the CI Technology Database
With all of the news about the major PC slowdown looming,Harte-Hanks Market Intelligence wanted to begin tracking the installed base of the different desktop and notebook PC vendors across the approximate 280,000 North American sites in the CI technology Database.

In October, Dell and Compaq each lead the desktop PC vendors with 20% of the installed base, followed by IBM with 10%, Gateway with 9%, HP and APple with 7% and 6%, respectively.

As for the Notebook PC Vendorsm IBM lead with 23%, followed by Dell with 20%, Compaq and Toshiba each with 16%, and Gateway with just 5%. It is apparent that the fight between Dell, Compaq and IBM will remain tight, but check back here regularly to see wh
